Me practicing my self portrait abilities......obviously needing some practice!
After the main trees are set up (we have three main theme trees this year, quite a downsize from last year's 6), we begin designing mantles, windows and doorways, mirrors are draped with garlands and wreaths and chandeliers become little pieces or art festooned with boughs and berries. Here's a peek at some of the work in progress......
We always show several components to each color story....this is the mantle designed with the graphite and persimmon color theme! Wow!
Susan peeking through the branches of fabulous silver tinsel tree. After it was set in place in the icy room, we packed it full with icy snowflakes. It's pretty darn cute! You'll have to come in to see this one.
Check in tomorrow for several funny photos of frustration and exhaustion as the days rolled on into nights.......

I want that mantle! Persimmon and charcoal are my wedding colors.
I love the picture of you peeking through the tree! I love that tree! And I have a feeling that that label could be on almost all of your posts...
That picture of you peeking through the trees is pretty awesome! And I love the self-portraiture--it's the way to go.
that looks sooo festive and fun. sorry about all the work that entails, but it looks gorgeous every thing looks amazing and the color hues...ahhhh holidays!
It looks like you're a self-portrait natural!
Can't wait to see the photos of late-night frustration! I love the persimmon and graphite theme.
I think anyone that could smile (even behind a cute silver tree) at the end of a 7 day 12 hour a day week is pretty awesome!!!
Tonight I was one of the lucky guests at Black Eyed Susan to attend Susan's First Peek Annual Event. I must say I had no idea what to expect. I had never met Susan and although I have been a loyal fan and customer for the past few years, I had never experienced such a wonderful evening like tonight's at the store. First of all her staff is remarkable. We were greeted with warm welcoming and much kindness. The store was dressed to definitely lure and hypnotize all with it's grandeur and color and elegance. Then we met Susan. For such an incredible talent I expected her to be 9 feet tall and not the petite package she was. Lovely and elegant in her matching persimmon jacket and shoes she greeted everyone and called many by first name basis. She was charming and creative and explained her vision so eloquently. She spoke to us in the group showing us her style of decorating with flair and color. She uses color like an artist and takes it to an entire new level. Susan answered many questions and even made wonderful lemon lime squares from her own recipe. I took many photos of the evening and I'm hoping Susan will use them on her blog. I can't wait until Nov 6 when She hosts Holiday Entertaining in Style. Thanks Rose for the help with the mirror. You're a doll!
